About the White Acrylic 7328
Acrylic 7328 is an industry-standard, translucent bright white cast acrylic sheet (plexiglass) widely used for backlighting, illuminated signage, and light diffusion. Key Characteristics & Specifications - Type: Cast acrylic (PMMA). It has a higher molecular weight than extruded acrylic, which gives cleaner laser cutting, routing, drilling, and gluing. - Color / Appearance: Bright translucent white, distinct from opaque whites used for non-illuminated work. - Light Transmission: Typically 28% to 32%. It diffuses light evenly while hiding the LEDs or bulbs behind it. - Surface Finish: Glossy on both sides. - Durability: Up to 17 times more impact-resistant than glass, while staying lightweight and UV and weather resistant for indoor or outdoor use. How 7328 Compares to Our Other Whites - White 2447: Higher light transmission (47% to 55%), for a brighter glow with modern high-output LEDs. - White 7328: Medium light transmission (28% to 32%), the traditional, balanced standard for backlit signs and lightboxes. - White 3015: Opaque white, no light pass. For non-illuminated signs, letters, and privacy panels. Common Applications - Backlit Signage & Lightboxes: Evenly diffuses light from LEDs or fluorescent tubes while hiding what's inside. - Point-of-Purchase (POP) Displays & Retail Fixtures: A clean, professional white background for branding. - Crafts & Laser Projects: Engraves, cuts, and shapes cleanly on laser cutters and CNC routers. - Drafting & Photo Tables: A diffusion top for tracing tables and photography light boxes.
