How they use our transfers

Sonscreens is a repeat customer that orders sublimation transfers from us regularly. For this job we printed the Recipe Box Brunch Hub logo — full color, mirrored on sublimation paper — and Sonscreens did the rest in their own shop: wrap the transfer around a blank white latte mug, press it on their mug press, and peel. The ink turns to gas under heat and bonds into the mug's coating, so the logo becomes part of the surface instead of sitting on top of it.

Watch both videos below: the time-lapse of the mugs being pressed, and Ryan from Sonscreens peeling the paper off a finished mug.

Ryan from Sonscreens reveals a Recipe Box Brunch Hub mug

What you're seeing

Ryan peels a Print Habit sublimation transfer off a Recipe Box Brunch Hub latte mug that's still warm from the press: he pulls the tape, lifts the paper — the image is still visible on it — then turns the mug and peels the second side. Their customer wanted the logo on both sides.

Ryan (Sonscreens): So I'm excited to pull this off. I'm not sure what to expect yet, but we're just gonna try. The mug is still pretty warm.

Oh, that is so cool! So this is what the paper looks like — so you can still see the image.

Holy crap, that's so neat! But look at the color on this — it looks so good. Very happy with how the color looks. Let me take the other one off.

Oh man, last piece of tape stuck on there. Get off.

Oh my gosh, that's so cool. Yeah, this customer wanted it to be on both sides, specifically. And even though this one I cut in half, I think the placement got pretty dang close — that I'm very happy with.

What you're seeing

At Sonscreens' shop, each transfer is trimmed with scissors, wrapped around a blank white latte mug and taped in place, then pressed in their mug press. Notice how pale the design looks on the paper; the clip ends on the finished, full-color mug.
